March 2011

Tidbits from Illinois
____________________________________________________________________________

-Joel and Ryan took and intense trip to Illinois for 10 speaking engagements in 3 days.  The last day of the trip, Joel spoke 5 times!
-Three of those 10 events were some of the most successful outreach concerts to date!
-Joel and Ryan visited Spoon River Valley, one of the smallest schools he has ever visited. There were 200 total students in the grades seven through twelve.

Then and Now at Lucas, OH
________________________________________________________________________________________
This month ended with an awesome trip to Lucas, OH for 2 assemblies and a concert. Here's a funny video of a teacher at Lucas rapping Vanilla Ice right after the assembly.

Joel and Ryan actually visited Lucas for an evening event a couple years ago. At that time, the crowd was mostly families and Ohio State fans. Since then, if you remember, a little over a year ago we changed our plan of attack for our evening events. It is now a concert featuring Ryan and aimed at students. The crowd this time consisted of over 200 students! We were so pleased to see that our efforts have paid off and hopefully tons of un-churched students heard the truth about Jesus for perhaps the first time! Here's a quote from a student at Lucas HS student who prayed to receive Christ for the first time at the concert,

"Your show was very good and it helped me open up. I cried when we were praying and I believe it was because God came to live inside me. I would like to know if I can get baptized. Thank you!" -DD

Praise God for DD's new life in Christ!

Until Next Month,

Message From Joel

Teammates,

Last month I wrote about the Holliday's new baby coming soon.  This month I have some more news from the Holliday side.  Which is remarkably less exciting than the baby.
Ryan recently released his first CD with original music.  It has been in the making for the past 3 years.  It is one more avenue to minister to students.  We give away a copy of Ryan's CD at the school assembly and we have already and seen how this brings more students back to the concert. You can check out his website where you can listen to his music for free online.  His music is also available for purchase on itunes and CD Baby.  All of the money from sales goes to support our ministry.  We are excited for this big step forward.  Please pray that God uses it for his glory.
God Bless,
Joel
